Although not the style you would usually find in our shop, once Leon emailed through his plans, we knew this job was going to make for something very interesting.
The initial conversation with Leon pretty much went like this: "So, I've got some wild sized wheels, some carbon flares sitting in a box, and a 180sx. Lets make it happen"
And when we say wild. How does 15x9j -54 up front sound!? Thats not a typo, a -54 offset.
While we had the car on the hoist, we also fitted our full 555 steering setup. Knuckles, lower arms, tie rods and a relocated steering rack to get the whole front end stretched out even further.
The just gets even wilder, this time 15x10j -54. We cut the factory metal guards and fitted the carbon flares. The ride height still needs some tinkering, but we left Leon to have a play with that.
A few other jobs also needed doing, like mounting the Parts Shop MAX handbrake..
Adding some dimpled gussets to his existing rollcage..
And mounting the rather large oil cooler front and center.
Again, it's not our usual style, but once this thing gets the engine in, some paint and a little tweaking of the ride height/alignment, it's definitely going to be something else.
