There was a slight jump between the building/rebuilding of the cars and the final product in the recent Speedhunters.com article, so we will chuck the final few posts together to get us up to date. At this point, both cars were freshly painted in our yellow fading to red colour-way, with all fabrication on both cars nearing completion. It was nice to have the S14 finally come together and look like a drift car for the first time in its life.
The engine/gearbox had been in and out of the S14 countless times in it's build, so it was nice to see it reassembled for the final time and bolted back into the car.
Behind the uprated ORC 409D clutch, the SR runs an RB25 gearbox bolted to an Z32 bellhousing. While the S13 runs a full Z32 gearbox setup. Both fitted to the engine with engineeredtoslide.com Z32-SR adapter plates.
The engine setup for the S14 is the original S13 SR20 out of our now sold purple 180SX.
Next on the to do list, was to get the wheels up to spec. We recently imported a set of Work Emotion Kiwami's in 17x9+17 and 18x9.5+12 through jessestreeter.com (as with all our bits). At the time of ordering, white wasn't in stock, so I made the choice to purchase silver and get the wheels here asap. It was more than a shame to cover up the shining Work silver, but white was always the plan, so off to the powdercoaters they went.
The S14's TE37's also received a fresh white powdercoat and new stickers to get them looking like new again.
Then we got busy bolting all the freshly painted aero and other pieces back onto the shells, getting out first glimpse a the final product of the builds.
The shear amount of fabrication work that has gone into the S14 was starting to get out of hand. We haven't had a chance to document each aspect individually, but we are planning on some upcoming detailed posts on each section of the new build, so keep an eye out. For now, here is a bunch of images to give you an idea.

This shot below gives you an idea on the amount of red metallic and rainbow sparkle in the C's Garage Red once the sun gets on it.
Only a few finishing touches now remained until the cars were ready to fire up for the first time since there builds/rebuilds. More updates shortly.
